- Of the 21 photographs in total, there are 8 photographs of Morris Zimmering and 4 of his wife Gertrude. These include images of Morris Zimmering in uniform during World War I; one of these is a photograph which has been hand coloured. Those taken in World War II are from a photo booth. Two photographs depict Morris Zimmering with his wife, Gertrude. The collection also includes an image of Gertrude Gutman before her marriage. There are 11 photographs of Mark Aaron Zimmering. Mark Aaron Zimmering is photographed in his Royal Fusiliers uniform and in front of his tent in Palestine. The collection also includes 6 of Morris' medals and 4 pins. Two of the pins were issued during World War I including one received "for service at the front". 4 medals were received during World War II. Other artefacts include cutlery used while in the field and two armbands from the Brigadier Frederick Kisch branch of the Canadian Jewish Legion. Documents include Gertrude Gutman's Polish passport, an original quarantine certificate, Hebrew Protective Association of Montreal booklet, photocopies of Morris Zimmering's naturalisation certificate and photocopies of Morris Zimmering and Gertrude Gutman's marriage certificate.

- History / Biographical
- This collection concerns Morris Zimmering and his brother Mark Aaron Zimmering. Morris Zimmering was born in 1892. In 1916 he joined the Jewish Reinforcement Draft Company in Montreal and served in England. He also served under the CASF in World War II. He was married to Gertrude Gutman in 1926. Morris Zimmering died in June 1960. Mark Aaron Zimmering served in World War I under the Jewish Legion section of the Royal Fusiliers of Great Britain. He was stationed in Palestine.
- Custodial History
- This fonds was donated in two increments by I.J. Zimmering, son of Morris. The items pertaining to Morris were donated in 1989 while the items pertaining to Morris' brother Mark Aaron were donated in 1990.
