- One of the most important projects of the Sisterhood is the kosher "Meals on Wheels" program. The program was first initiated by the Golden Age Association of Allied Jewish Community Services in 1972. The Sisterhood organizes the cooking and delivery of up to five thousand meals every year including special holiday meals. Congregation Shaar Hashomayim was the first synagogue to sponsor such a project.
