First regulation of the Reich Commissioner for the occupied Dutch territory, including measures in the area of justice in civil matters...... 699 231. Regulation of the Reich Commissioner for the occupied Dutch Central area on the work and all work by Germans in Jewish households...... 701 232. Regulation of the Reich Commissioner for the occupied Dutch Central region, including measures in the Netherlands broadcasting...... 703 ------------------------------------ 231: REGULATION of the Reich Commissioner for the occupied Dutch area on the work and all work by Germans in Jewish households. Under Article 5 of the Decree of the Fuhrer on the exercise of Government Powers in the Netherlands of 18 May, 1940 (R. W. B. I, p 778) I determine: Article 1: (1) German nationals or Germans or kindred blood must not be employed in households in which a Jew is head of the household or the household's standing, permanently or temporarily, but who continuously, for more than four weeks, is a member. (2) For the purposes of the first paragraph: 1) "Jew" he who under the provisions of Article 4 of Regulation No. 189/1940 regarding the identification of companies or Jew is classified as: 2) Perform work in the household of a family he wholly or partly for definite or indefinite period in that family is included in the household of work or who, without the family are included, with daily household chores or other daily activities, which directly or indirectly to the household related, concerns. ----------------------------------- 3. The journal is written in German on the left and Dutch on the right. 4. There are many pages missing with only six present. 5. Only the first page of the journal was translated along with a few paragraphs detailing Regulation 231 - the rules and regulations concerning the emplyment of a German citizen by a Jewish household.
