History Biographical
Sam Ages was born in 1922 to Jack (Jacob) and Margaret Ages of Murray Street. He has fond memories of walking up Sparks Street and Rideau Street on Friday nights with his cousins. Sam Ages was Secretary of the Moses Bilsky chapter of A.Z.A. in May 1942. He joined the Air Force in June that same year because he was interested in Radar technology. Sam received training in Toronto, London and Clinton Ontario before going to Boston and Corpus Christie Texas. He went overseas in 1943 and served at a Loran station monitoring enemy movement at Port Errol, near Aberdean, Scotland. When the war ended Sam Ages rejoined the public service and married Hilda Baker in July 1962. They had one daughter Karen Ages. Sam Ages died August 9, 2015, aged 92.
