- History / Biographical
- Abraham was born in Russia in 1874. He immigrated to Ottawa in 1905 with his wife Sarah (Lesh) Futeral. Abraham Futeral owned a fur store in early Ottawa called, "A. Futeral & Co." The store was initially located on O'Connor between Wellington and Sparks Street, moved to Queen Street between Metcalfe and O'Connor, then to Bank Street between Gloucester and Nepean Streets. Abraham and Sarah had one son (only child known as of 2012) named David Futeral. Sarah Futeral's brother was Samuel Lesh.
- Notes
- 1. Photographs 1-177 and 1-178 show Sarah Futeral wearing a fur coat made by Abraham.
