Sergeant Bennie Stromberg of Montreal, Quebec, was killed when his plane, on a routine flight, crashed into the Miramichi River at Bay du Vin. At the time of his death, Sergeant Stromberg was stationed at No. 10 Air Observers School at Chatham, New Brunswick.
Flying Officer Benny Yellin of Montreal, Quebec, who was reported missing after air operations on October 15, 1944, was subsequently presumed dead for official purposes. Flying Officer Yellin graduated as a navigator from London, Ontario, in April 1944.
