Series of black, metallic gold and grey and black striped bands at each end. Knotted fringe at each end. Narrative: Object belonged to Léon Moshe Profeta (donor's maternal grandfather). He was born in Istanbul and emigrated to Romania. He died before the Second World War.

Either side of the shawl is a series of vertical blue stripes, of various widths. There is crocheted netting and fringe on each wide end. Narrative: Tallis belonged to the donor and was given to him after the Second World War.

288 pages; hardcover, faux black leather with black fabric tape on the binding. There is nothing printed on the cover or spine. Interior pages are beige; they consist of text (Yiddish ? Needs confirmation). Narrative: This is the prayer book, which was issued under the supervision of the Chief Rabbi M. Ehrenpreis (Sweden). Was published with the help of the WJC to commemorate and honour the destroyed Jewish communities of Europe. The prayer-book had been printed in 50.000 copies in Stockholm.

A series of purple vertical lines are found on either end. A yellow strip of fabric (the neck band, known as an atarah) has been sewen to the top edge, embroidered with Hebrew text and detailing. The corners have been reinforced and have holes with knotted string (tzitzit) passed through. Fringe has been knotted on either end, forming a net look. Narrative: Tallis probably acquired in Canada. Donor came in 1914

A bag embroidered with flowers and initials on the front; an embroidered Star of David on the back. The initials and the star have been embroidered with metal wiring. Narrative: The donor brought it from her grandparent's shul in Mateszalka, Hungary in July 1995.

4 thin strips sewn together to form a rectangle, with 2 additional strips attached on either side, leaving a small (4cm) space. Holes are cut on each corner, with a knotted string (tzitzit) going through. On the backside, buttons, bound with thread, are sewn to each corner. The horizontal panels have flaps that continue over the buttons, with button holes in each. Narrative: Tallit katan ("small tallit") belonged to Jean Kohn's brother. It was made in 1935 in Koprzwnica, Poland. Family came to USA in 1935.

The surface has been woven into diamond-shaped lace. Each diamond is raised at the centre into a peak. A border of knotted lace goes around the shawl, with fringe on all 4 sides. Narrative: Used as a prayer shwal, worn by donor's mother, Hannah Strauss, on Friday nights' services.

Notes
The back panel of the bag overlaps onto the front, like an envelope, to keep the bag closed. Narrative: Joseph Lion immigrated to Holland after Hitler came to power in Germany. He was later deported to Terezin as was his wife. It is believed that he was sent to Terezin and notanother camp because he had been decorated with the Iron Cross after the Forst World War.

Pink surface with an embroidered filigree pattern done with thread and metal wiring. Top band is green. A snap clip has been sewn inside, 1 part on each panel, to keep the bag closed. Some hand stitching done along the seams. A bundle of white knotted thread (tzitzit) was found inside the bag. Narrative: All objects belonged to Leon Moshe Profeta, donor's maternal grandfather. He was born in Istanbul and emigrated to Romania. He died before the war.
