Narrative: This document was likely used in preparation for the 1967 memorial rally for the 22nd anniversary of the liberation of Nazi-occupied Europe, organized by The Association of Survivors of Nazi Oppression. Formerly the Association of Former Concentration Camp Inmates, Survivors of Nazi Oppression, this organization was founded circa 1960 in Montreal. Many of its members were founding members of the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre.

1 page, single-sided. Folded one time horizontally. Document is a biography of General Jean Victor Allard. Issued by the Information Services Division of the Department of National Defense. Narrative: This document was likely used in preparation for the 1967 memorial rally for the 22nd anniversary of the liberation of Nazi-occupied Europe, organized by The Association of Survivors of Nazi Oppression. General Allard received a memorial plaque at the event. Formerly the Association of Former Concentration Camp Inmates, Survivors of Nazi Oppression, this organization was founded circa 1960 in Montreal. Many of its members were founding members of the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre.

b&w, Lou Zablow presents plaque to Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson in front of the Houses of Parliament Narrative: Lou Zablow (1924-2005) was a Holocaust survivor from Lodz, Poland. He survived the Lodz ghetto, was deported to Auschwitz where he stayed four days before being sent to slave labour in Lieberose, Sachenhausen, and Mauthausen concentration camps. In April 1945, he was forced on a death march to Gunskirchen concentration camp where he was liberated by the US army. He immigrated to Montreal in 1949 and became the president of the Association of Survivors of Nazi Oppression (circa 1963-1971) and took part in the creation of the MHMC in 1979.
