263 boxes of case file records for immigration clients assisted by JIAS between 1989-2009. Two binders indexing the contents of each box, and database information divided by year, in Excel format. The database information was provided via email attachments. The data base contains detailed information about client names, ages, places of origin, dates of arrival, profession, etc., and can therefore be used for statistical analyses. Bound volume: The Economic Adjustment of North African Jewish Immigrants in Montreal - a Doctorate Thesis by Naomi Moldofsky; bound volume: Bene Israel Immigration and its Social-Cultural Background - a research Report for the Masters' Degee in Social Work by Saul E. Joel; JIAS News and JIAS report - newspapers from 1948-60s. Binder with newspaper clippings about JIAS activities - mostly 1980s and 1990s. Also 2 laminated illustrated news articles about JIAS immigration work.

History / Biographical
In April 2008, JIAS Montreal merged with Jewish family services and the Jewish Employment Program to form Agence Ametz. It was then decided that all remotely-stored migration and other JIAS cases from the Late 1980s thraght to 2088 would be transfered to the care of CJCCCNA.
Custodial History
The collection was donated on January 26, 2010 by the Montreal JIAS office now called Agence Ometz. The case file boxes will remain currently in remote storage at Iron Mountain (Ville St. Laurent branch) and will only be accessed as needed. Addition to the collection was made on Nov.3, 2010 by Olga Davydova for JIAS/Agence Ometz.
