Flying Officer Martin Shapiro of Montreal, Quebec, was reported killed in action after having been listed missing on May 28, 1944, during air operations (R.C.A.F. Casualty List No. 925). He enlisted in the air force in April 1942, graduated as a navigator at Ancienne Lorette, Quebec, and was commissioned in February 1943. He proceeded overseas that same month. At the time of his death, he was serving with the R.C.A.F. Squadron No. 550.
