- OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, March 31, 1993 KASHETSKY – At St. Joseph’s Hospital on March 30, 1993, Hyman Kashetsky of 91 Cranston Avenue, Saint John, husband of Lillian (Levine) Kashetsky, son of the late Morris and Esther (Budovitch) Kashetsky; survived by his wife, sister-in-law, Blanche Kashetsky of Saint John, several nieces and nephews, predeceased by a brother Max and sister Pearl Holtzman. Resting at the Castle funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street, from where the funeral will be held on Wednesday with service at 3 .m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. The Evening Times Globe Wednesday, March 31, 1993 Hyman Kashetsky of 91 Cranston Avenue, husband of Lillian (Levine) Kashetsky, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late Morris and Esther (Budovitch) Kashetsky. He had been employed in the antique business for 68 years and owned and operated the Antique Centre in Saint John. He traveled widely in connection with his business and his antiques were sent to many parts of the world. He was also an expert in hooked rugs. He lived in Prince Edward Island for 25 years and operated a store in Kensington. In his youth, he was active in boxing. He was a member of the Congregation Shaarei Zedek. Surviving, besides his wife, are his sister-in-law Blanche Kashetsky and several nieces and nephews. His brother Max and his sister Pearl died before him. The funeral will be held today at 3 p.m. at Castle Funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street. Burial will be in the Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. The Evening Times Globe Monday, April 12, 1993 The funeral of Hyman Kashetsky of 91 Cranston Avenue, husband of Lillian (Levine) Kashetsky, was held from Castle Funeral Home (Hillsley Chapel), 91 Leinster Street, with David Lubin of the Congregation Shaarei Zedek officiating. Pallbearers were members of the Chevra Kadisha. Donations were received for the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation, including one from Peat Marwick Thorne. Interment took place in the Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 998.61.424 / JM 2006.43.6. Memorial plaque in synagogue: Kashetsky-Michelson - F1.
