OBITUARIES: Saint John Times Globe, September 15, 1998 Zides, Murray – At his residence on September 13, 1998, Murray Zides of the Turnbull Nursing Home and formerly of the Dwyer Road, Saint John West, husband of the late Betty (Graser) Zides. Born in Poland, Mr. Zides was a graduate of Saint John High School, The University of New Brunswick, and a post-graduate of Yale University in Highway Traffic Engineering. He was a Director of the Town Planning Commission of Metropolitan Saint John until 12 years ago. He was elected President of the Town Planning Institute of Canada at the Annual Conference held at the University of Montreal. Mr. Zides was also the Director of the Community Planning Office of the Province in Saskatchewan. He is survived by one son, Bruce Zides of Toronto, one brother-in-law, Mr. Justice Weldon Graser of East Riverside, sisters-in-law Rhoda Graser of Toronto, Lorraine Zides of Ottawa, and Toby Graser of East Riverside, nieces Heidi of Toronto, Andrea of Toronto, Cheryl of Ottawa, Dini of Toronto, Valli and Wendy, both of Los Angeles, two nephews, Colin and Geoffrey of St. Catharine’s, Ontario, and Geoffrey of Ottawa. Predeceased by his wife, Betty and one brother, Milton. Resting at Ocean View Funeral Home, Hillsley Chapel,. 91 Leinster Street (634-1712). Funeral serice will be held at Hillsley Chapel on Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery.
