OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, August 3, 1987 After a period of failing health on August 2, 1987, at her residence, Mrs. Betty Zides of 400 Dwyer Road, Saint John West, wife of Murray Zides, survived by her husband; one son, Bruce of Toronto, Ont.; one brother, Weldon Graser of Fredericton; one sister, Rhoda Graser of Toronto; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Castle Funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street, from where the funeral will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. Interment in the Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, to the Hadassah WIZO Organization by telephoning 652-3491, or to charity of donor’s choice. The Telegraph Journal Monday, August 3, 1987 The death of Mrs. Betty Zides of 400 Dwyer Road, Saint john West, wife of Murray Zides, occurred at her residence on Sunday after a period of failing health. Born in Fredericton, she was daughter of the late David and Lillian Graser. Mrs. Zides had resided in Saskatchewan and for the last 30 years in Saint John. She was member of the Congregation Shaarei Zedek, a member of the Hadassah WIZO and Sisterhood of Shaarei Zedek. She was involved with the woman’s support group of professional engineers and community planners. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Bruce of Toronto, Ont.; one brother, Weldon Graser of Fredericton; one sister, Rhoda Graser of Toronto; and several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Castle Funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street, from where the funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. Interment in the Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. OBITUARIES: Saint John Times Globe, September 15, 1998 Zides, Murray – At his residence on September 13, 1998, Murray Zides of the Turnbull Nursing Home and formerly of the Dwyer Road, Saint John West, husband of the late Betty (Graser) Zides. Born in Poland, Mr. Zides was a graduate of Saint John High School, The University of New Brunswick, and a post-graduate of Yale University in Highway Traffic Engineering. He was a Director of the Town Planning Commission of Metropolitan Saint John until 12 years ago. He was elected President of the Town Planning Institute of Canada at the Annual Conference held at the University of Montreal. Mr. Zides was also the Director of the Community Planning Office of the Province in Saskatchewan. He is survived by one son, Bruce Zides of Toronto, one brother-in-law, Mr. Justice Weldon Graser of East Riverside, sisters-in-law Rhoda Graser of Toronto, Lorraine Zides of Ottawa, and Toby Graser of East Riverside, nieces Heidi of Toronto, Andrea of Toronto, Cheryl of Ottawa, Dini of Toronto, Valli and Wendy, both of Los Angeles, two nephews, Colin and Geoffrey of St. Catharine’s, Ontario, and Geoffrey of Ottawa. Predeceased by his wife, Betty and one brother, Milton. Resting at Ocean View Funeral Home, Hillsley Chapel,. 91 Leinster Street (634-1712). Funeral serice will be held at Hillsley Chapel on Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery.
