OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, March 9, 1957 Webber - At the Saint John General Hospital, on March 8, 1957, Mrs. Annie Webber, 40 Elliott Row, widow of Isaac Webber and daughter of the late Lipman and Leah Gilbert, survived by one son, one daughter, one brother, two sisters, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the vestry of Shaarei Zedek Synagogue Sunday afternoon with service at 2:30 o’clock. Interment at Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. The Evening Times Globe Saturday, March 9, 1957, page 21 Mrs. Isaac Webber Dies in Hospital Many friends will learn with regret of the death of Mrs. Annie Webber, widow of Isaac Webber, of 40 Elliot Row, which occurred on Friday evening at the Saint John General Hospital after a period of failing health. Mrs. Webber was born in Poland and prior to coming to Canada had resided in the United States for some years. All her married life had been spent in Saint John. Mrs. Webber was a member of the Congregation of Shaarei Zedek and when her health had permitted had taken an active part in church [sic] affairs. Surviving are a son, Herbert Webber, Fredericton; one daughter, Mrs. F.N. Gauvin, Saint John,; one brother, Leo Gilbert, Halifax, N.S.; two sisters, Mrs. M. Miller who resides in Halifax and Esther, living in South America, four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon from the vestry of the Shaarei Zedek Synagogue with service at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 998.61.37.
