OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, September 7, 2005 Selby, Sanford Isaac - The death of Sanford 'Sandy' Selby, of Germain Street, Saint John, N.B. occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 6, 2005. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late Lewis and Bessie (Ware) Selby. Sandy attended Princess Anne and Prince Charles School, before working at the family business, Princess Dress Shop on Union Street, and later was employed for the City of Saint John for 30 years. He was a member of the Adanac Club, Outside Workers Union Local #18 and was also a longtime member of Congregation Shaarei Zedek. Sandy was also involved with the High 'Y', and enjoyed darts, baseball, hockey, bowling and calling Bingo. Survived by two brothers, Michael Selby (Juanita) of Hornby Island, B.C. and Robert Selby of Quispamsis, N.B.; step-brother, Allen Selby and his partner, Stephen of Fredericton, N.B. and one niece, Shoshanah Claire Selby. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Romero House Soup Kitchen.
