OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, August 12, 1946, SB100, p. 158 Joseph L. Goldman Passes Suddenly Succumbing to a sudden heart attack, Joseph Louis Goldman, well known dry goods merchant, died at his home, 26 Wall Street, yesterday and deep sympathy has been extended to those bereaved. Mr. Goldman was 72 years of age and was born in Minsk, Russia. He came to Canada about fifty years ago and after a brief period when he made his home in Salisbury, N.B., he came to Saint John and had been successfully engaging in merchandising here since then. He took an active part in the affairs of the Hebrew Congregation and had membership in the Masonic Order. Besides his wife, Mrs. Minnie Goldman, who had taken a prominent part in the work of the women’s organizations in the city, Mr. Goldman is survived by two sons, A. Percy and Sanford, of Saint John; two daughters, Mrs. Ben Attis, Moncton and Mrs. Hart Isaacs of this city; three grandsons, one granddaughter; three sisters, Mrs. S. Rabkin, Saint John, Mrs. A. Abramsky, Saskatchewan, and Mrs. M. Goldman, Montreal, and one half brother, Edgar Winner, Brookline, Mass. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from Chamberlain’s Funeral Home, 145 King Street East. Interment will be in the Hebrew Cemetery at Fernhill. OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, May 10, 1971 Goldman- At the Saint John General Hospital, on May 7, 1971, Mrs. Minnie Goldman of 38 Wentworth Street, widow of Joseph Goldman; survived by one son, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Resting at the Calvin Funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street, where the funeral will be held Monday with service at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery.
