Born on December 19, 1911 in Fredericton, N.B., he was a son of the late Louis and Elizabeth Levine. Simon resided in Saint John for the past 90 years. He started his own grocery business in 1931, Dominion Food Shop and later changed it to Simon's Furniture on Union Street. He always had a smile for his many long-standing customers and friends. He was a world traveler and an avid gardener, and won many prizes for his roses and dahlias. His charismatic story telling and sense of humour were well known by so many friends in his beloved Saint John. Simon was a frequent supporter of many charitable organizations.
