OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, October 12, 1942 Epstein—At her residence, 42 Acadia Street, on Oct. 10, 1942. After a brief illness, Mrs. Bessie Epstein, wife of John Epstein, leaving to mourn her husband, four daughters, and one grandchild. Funeral was held from her residence, Arcadia Street, on Sunday morning, at 10 o’clock. Interment at Hebrew Plot, Fernhill Cemetery. Telegraph Journal Tuesday, October 13, 1942 Mrs. Epstein Dies, Ill For A Week Many friends will regret to learn of the death of Mrs. Bessie Epstein, wife of John Epstein, which occurred at her residence, 42 Acadia Street, on Saturday at noon. Mrs. Epstein had been ill for a week. She was born in Lacowica, Russia, a daughter of the late William Railo Budow but had been residing in this city for over 38 years and was highly esteemed. She was a member of the Hebrew congregation and leaves to mourn her husband, four daughters, Mr. M.I. Everett of this city; Misses Rebecca, Doreen, and Goldie all at home, and one granddaughter, Miss Barbara Joan Everett of this city. The funeral was held from her residence, Acadia Street on Sunday morning at 10 o’clock with services being conducted by Rev. A. Babb and Rabbi Beshkin. OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, February 13, 1975, Page 23 After a brief illness at Saint John General Hospital, on Feb. 12, 1975, John Epstein of 22 Park Lawn Court, husband of the late Bessie (Budow) Epstein; survived by three daughters, three grandchildren, two nephews, and one niece. Resting at Castle Funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street from where the funeral will be held Friday with service at 2 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Memorial service will be observed at his former residence, 22 Park Lawn Court. It has been requested that donations be made in his memory to the Hadassah WIZO Organization of Canada.
