- OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, April 14, 1997 Selick, Sadie Smia – After a lengthy illness on April 11,1997, Sadie Sima Selick of Sydney Street. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Avrom Zeva and Annie Selick. She was life long resident of the city and a member of the well-known family of the North End. She spent her whole working life at Bassen's Ltd. on King Street. She was a life long member of the Shaarei Zedek Synagogue, the Sisterhood of the Synagogue and a member of the Hadassah WIZO. She is survived by one brother, Harry (Hank) Selick of Toronto; two sisters, Thea Schilling of New York , Helen Selick of Saint John, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several sisters and a brother. Funeral service will be held at 'Hillsley'Funeral Home, 91 Leinster Street (634-1700) on Monday, April 14, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Donations to the Jewish Historical Museum or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 2004.36.17.
