In the middle, at the top centre, is an imperial eagle, looking left, with a swastika in the middle of its body. Below the eagle is a high relief image of the Olympic rings. The case opens by pressing a thin rectangular button on the front centre. - Military style cap with a grey, flat, sloping wool crown, dark grey velvet band and black plastic visor. Dark grey wool top with a white trim and grey velvet band; in the middle of the band is a small round hole with a reinforced metal edge. A knotted silver cord, made with metal thread, is attached by silver colored buttons on either side and drapes across the visor. Inside band is leather; outside band is covering a cardboard base, causing it to be stiff. Silver metal adornment is found on the sloping crown, front middle, of a Nazi Reichsadler. A manufacturer’s tag is found on the inside, attached to the crown (see inscription). Narrative: History significance: The Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) office was responsible for the central supply of all kinds of uniforms, uniform parts and equipment to members of Nazi organizations. It defined design, manufacturing and quality standards, and published an authoritative colour chart for textiles.
