OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, November 4, 1940, Page 10 Abraham Aranoff Dies In Hospital The death of Abraham Aranoff, well-known resident of the North End, occurred yesterday morning at the General Hospital after a brief illness. A son of Mrs. Lena and the late David Aranoff, he was born in Saint John and had resided here all his life. He was a member of the Hebrew Congregation of the Shaarei Zedek Synagogue. He was also a member of the Saint John branch of the New Brunswick Fish and Game Protective Association. Besides his mother, he is survived by four brothers, Morris Aranoff, New York, and Solomon, Harry and Louis, all of this city. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from Chamberlain’s Funeral Home, 21 Paradise Row, at 3 p.m. Service was conducted by Rabbi M. Beshkin, assisted by Rev. A. Babb. Interment was made in the Hebrew plot in Fernhill Cemetery. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 998.61.88. Additional notes: peddler

OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, November 21, 1944 Mrs. Lena Aranoff Succumbs in City Many friends will regret to learn of the death of Mrs. Lena Aranoff of 391 Main Street, widow of David Aranoff, which occurred in this city on Monday at noon. Mrs. Aranoff was born in Russia and resided in this city for 43 years. She was widely known and highly respected. She was a member of several Hebrew societies and in early life was an active member of them. Surviving are three sons, Saul, Harry and Louis, all of this city, two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Carter and Mrs. Saul Strauss, both of Montreal, and three grandchildren. The body is resting at Chamberlain’s Funeral Home, 113 King Street East, from where funeral will be held today (Tuesday) at 2:30 o’clock. Internment will be in the Hebrew plot in Fernhill Cemetery.
