- OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, December 19, 1932 Mrs. Charles Brager Many in Saint John mourn the passing of Fanny, wife of Charles Brager, in the General Hospital on Saturday. She is survived by four sons, Max, Louis and J.N. of Saint John, and Morton, Buffalo, N.Y., and three daughters, Rose, Sarah, and Kate, the latter two residing in New York. The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. yesterday from her late home, 24 Charles Street, and interment was made in the Jewish section of Fernhill Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. A. Babb. - OBITUARIES: SB Series 95, July 16, 1942, Page 156 In Business Here for Half Century Charles G. Brager Dies in General Hospital after Brief Illness The death of Charles Gerson Brager, 47 Leinster Street occurred at an early hour this morning in the Saint John General Hospital after an illness of only a few days. Mr. Brager had been in his usual good health until Monday and his death came suddenly and as great shock to his family and friends. Mr. Brager was a son of the late Michael and Vera Brager of the city of Kovno, Lithuania and has been a highly respected citizen of Saint John where he carried on a successful business for over 50 years. He was one of the oldest members of the Hebrew Congregation and very active in all work pertaining to that body. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. L. R. Stibel and Ms. Shirley Brager of New York City; four sons, Louis A. and J. N. of the firm Brager Bros. Here; Halifax N.S. and Morton of Baltimore, Md. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon at Chamberlain’s Funeral Home, 145 King Street with service at 2:30 o’clock. The service will be conducted by Rev. M. Beshkin and Rev. A. Babb. Interment will be made in the Hebrew plot in Fernhill Cemetery. She was born in Poland and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon Goldman, formerly of Poland. She had resided in this city for the last ?? years. She was a member of the Hebrew congregation and her life was very active in church work. She leaves to mourn her husband; one son Carl Bassen of this city; two sisters, and nine brothers all of Chicago, USA.
