OBITUARIES: Saint John Telegraph Journal, April 13, 2004 1909-2004 – Bernard L. Goldfeather of Saint Johnn, N.B. passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital April 12 at the age of 94 years. Born in Saint John, N.B. on October 25, 1909. He was the son of the late Samuel and Esther (Poyas) Goldfeather. He is survived by his loving daughter, Lainie Goldman of San Diego, CA and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Fritzie (Cohen), brother Louis, sisters Clara (Bernstein), Faye (Yampol), Rose (Cornblat). Bernie was a Doctor of Optometry, following in his father’s footsteps. He practiced in Saint John for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. In his years of retirement his greatest joy was making new friends, bringing a smile to their faces, and sharing life experiences. Funeral service will be held graveside at Fernhill Cemetery on Tuesday, April 13 at 3:30 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home (634-7424). In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 2006.11.4. Memorial plaque in synagogue: Kashetsky-Michelson - F4 .
