OBITUARIES: Saint John Telegraph Journal, February 12, 2002 On February 11, 2002, Rose (Goldfeather) Cornblat formerly of Dufferin Avenue, the devoted wife of the late Hyman Cornblat, passed away peacefully at the Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John in 1906, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Esther (Poyas) Goldfeather. Rose who celebrated her 96th birthday on February 6, was an avid reader who loved music, nature and walking. She had a wonderful sense of humour, a sharp wit and a kind and loving heart. She was fortunate to have enjoyed the friendship and loving devotion of her caregivers, Mary, Gerta and Lorraine and her extended family the caring Sisters and devoted staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home. Rose was employed with her late husband as Insurance Adjustors for Kilgour Hamilton. She was a member of the Sisterhood of Shaarei Zedek Synagogue and the Hadassah Organization of Canada. She is survived by one daughter Lynn Rice of Saint John, one brother, Dr. Bernard Goldfeather of Loch Lomond Villa, two grandchildren Earl (Lynn) and Kevin (Bonnie) Rice, five great-grandchildren Zachary, Natasha, Michael, Raylene and Amber, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by one brother Louie and two sisters Clara Bernstein and Fay Yampol, one great-grandson Brandon. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) on Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery.
