- This 30 minute documentary provides a historical account of Jewish participation in Canada’s military efforts, from the British Naval Captain who covered General Wolfe’s landing at the Plaines of Abraham in 1759, to Passover services on the European front during the Second World War. Interviews with Canada’d first Jewish Senator and other Jewish veterans present colouful firsthand accounts of their battlefield experiences, secret missions, surviving capture as prisoners of war, and being honoured with military decorations. “No Greater Honour” also interprets the Jewish contribution in the context of Canadian history. Produced by the Jewish War Veterans of Canada (JWVC), this educational video is intended for students and community groups, Jewish and otherwise, who will find it valuable in understanding part of Canada’s cultural mosaic.
