- OBITUARIES: The Evening Times Globe, April 5, 1962, Page 2 In failing health for a lengthy period, Jacob J. Baxt died in hospital this morning. He was 56. Born in Saint John, the son of the late Louis and Lena Baxt, he had been a resident of the city all his life and was a well known business executive, having managed businesses in Saint John and Halifax.. In his younger life, Mr. Baxt had been active in Saint John YMHA. He was a member of the Congregation Shaarei Zedek. Surviving are a brother, Harry Baxt, Toronto, Ontario and a sister, Mrs. Harry Marcus, Dorchester, Massachusetts. The funeral was held this afternoon from the vestry of Shaarei Zedek Synagogue with service conducted by Haazan Belzalel Silberberg. Interment was in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Funeral service was held Monday afternoon from the vestry of Shaarei Zedek Synagogue. Interment was made in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 997.122.34.
