- Single page, creased vertically through center, double-sided, linear border around each page, exterior grey, interior beige, identification photo T.L. of interior. Contains personal information filled in by hand, multiple officiating stamps. Work permit for Avrum Katz from Kowel, No. 1313. Narrative: Born in 1892, Mr. Katz was the donor’s father. Her mother was Rebecca Pfeffer. They moved to England in 1939, and from there they travelled to New York to attend the World’s Fair. They were denied citizenship in the USA so they came to Montreal. Avrum worked as a peddler and attended University at night to become a civil engineer. He died in 1942.
