- OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, March 17, 1939, Page SB 93, page 213 Mrs. Rosenthal Dies in Hospital After an illness of two weeks the death occurred in the General Hospital yesterday of Mrs. Miriam Rosenthal, 392 Haymarket Square, widow of Jacob Rosenthal. She was born in Russia but had made her home in Saint John for the last 35 years. Mrs. Rosenthal leaves to mourn one daughter, Miss Jean, R.N. of Hartford, Connecticut; two sons, Louis, Hartford and Jack, Digby, N.S., and three grandchildren. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from Chamberlain's Funeral Home, 23 Paradise Row with Rev. M. Beshkin and Rev. A. Babb officiating. Interment was made in the Hebrew lot at Fernhill Cemetery. The Evening Times Globe Saturday, March 4, 1939 The condition of Mrs. Miriam Rosenthal, proprietress of a grocery store at 382 Haymarket Square, was stated at the General Hospital today to be still 'serious'. The elderly woman was found lying on the floor of her home, adjoining the store, last night, by police when neighbours feared something had happened when the store remained locked from inside yesterday. She was unconscious when found by police and was taken to the hospital. Mrs. Rosenthal's daughter, a registered nurse of Hartford, Conn., and a son, Jack, living in Digby, N.S. were notified. The Evening Times Globe Friday, March 17, 1939 Rosenthal – At the Saint John General Hospital, on March 16, 1939, Miriam Rosenthal, of 382 Haymarket Square, widow of Jacob Rosenthal, leaving to mourn one daughter, two sons, and three grandchildren. - OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, April 16, 1938, SB Series 93 No. 1, page 90 Mrs. D. Kunitzky Passes At Home A wide circle of friends will regret to learn of the death of Mrs. Mary Kunitzky, wife of David Kunitzky, which occurred at her residence, 109 Germain Street, early Friday morning after several weeks illness. She was in her 51st year. Her passing will be felt keenly by the local Jewish community of which she was a member of the Senior Hadassah Chapter of Saint John, the Daughters of Israel and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Congregation Shaarei Zedek. A native of Russia, Mrs. Kunitzky came to this country in her youth. She leaves her husband, two daughters, Mrs. B. Jacobson of this city, and Miss Frances, at home; one son, Joseph, at home; two sisters, Mrs. M. Budov and Mrs. C. Finder of New York, and one brother, Daniel Karlitsky, New York. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock from her late residence and was largely attended. Rev. A. Babb and Rev. M. Beshkin officiated. Interment was in Hebrew Plot in Fernhill Cemetery. - OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal , April 16, 1942 Mrs. Mary Berman Dies At Sackville; Funeral Service Will Be Held Here This Afternoon Mrs. Mary Berman, wife of Henry Berman, died early yesterday morning at her home in Sackville. Mrs. Berman,whose husband is prominent in Sackville community affairs, took an active part in the work of the Red Cross and other charitable organizations. She traveled widely and was known as a brilliant conversationalist and a popular lecturer. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Max Rose of Saint John, and was well known in this city. Surviving here are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Guss, Sackville, and Mrs. Aaron Brown, Montreal. The body arrived here yesterday afternoon, accompanied by Mr. Berman and Mrs. Guss and will rest at Chamberlain’s Funeral Home, 145 King St. East, until this afternoon, when the funeral will be held. The book consists of text only. Narrative: Little Lord Fauntleroy is the first children's novel written by English playwright and author Frances Hodgson Burnett. It was originally published as a serial in a magazine between November 1885 and October 1886, then as a book by Scribner's in 1886.
