- 2 pages. Two-sided letter handwritten in cursive cyrillic alphabet. The document was written by Manya Bilich to her children.After her death, the letter was buried by Kiril Chernish and recovered by her daughter, Olga Rabinovitz Bilich. Narrative: Manya Bilich was the mother of the donor, Olga Rabinovitz Bilich. She was born circa 1904 in Liubar, Ukraine. She and her husband Zelik were hidden by Kiril Chernish at the beginning of the German occupation, but he asked them to leave because he felt it was too dangerous to shelter Jews. She and her husband were murdered in 1941 by the Ukrainian police. In 1941-06, Olga Rabinovitz Bilich went to Odessa, where she cared for wounded soldiers. She was evacuated to Kazakhstan, and returned to Odessa after the war.
