2 pages. Personal letter from a father to his daughter, explaining why he was forced to leave her and admonishing her to have a good life and be grateful for the opportunities she will be given. Narrative: Written to the donor by her father. She was to be sent to her uncle and aunt (her father's brother and his wife) when she was 6 or 7 months old. Her father was sent to a forced labour camp in the Ukraine; he died during the war. Her mother was placed in a ghetto, then was later deported to Bergen-Belsen. Marie went with her. Both survived the war.
