- OBITUARIES: Saint John Telegraph Journal, November 13, 2002 The death of Mrs. Ruth Phyllis (Gauvin) Davis, of Saint John, NB, wife of Isadore Davis, occurred on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Cambridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Ada (Webber) Gauvin. She is survived by her husband, Isadore 'Izzie', her four sons, Richard Davis and Frederick (Barbara) Davis both of Toronto, ON, Glen (Debbie) Davis of Richmond, BC, and Danny (Danielle) Davis of Halifax, NS, one daughter, Sally Karlinsky (Harry) of Richmond, BC, five granddaughters, Ashley, Fanny, Jenna, April, and Elizabeth, and two grandsons, Samuel and Eli. She was predeceased by her parents. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at 2:00 PM from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424. Interment will take place at Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 2002.56.25. - OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, October 3, 1929 Mrs. Jacob Hertz Moncton. Oct. 2 - (Special) - The death occurred at the City Hospital here, yesterday, of Mrs. Pauline Hertz, wife of Jacob Hertz, 27 Steadman street, this city. Deceased had not enjoyed the best of health for several months past and although she had been able to be about, her illness did not become serious until the latter part of last week, when she was suddenly stricken and on Monday was taken to the City Hospital for treatment. The late Mrs. Hertz was 46 years of age and prior to her marriage was Miss Pauline Shaer of New York, where with her husband and family she resided until coming to Moncton 10 years ago. Beside her husband, she leaves to mourn three sons, Wilfred and Morris, of New York, and Joseph, at home, also three daughters, Sally of New York, and Ida and Freda at home. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon with service at the family residence, after which the body was taken to Saint John, where services were held at 11 o’clock this morning, after which interment was made there.
