- 4 pages with a b&w identification photograph of Jakob Wiener stapled on the first page. Throughout the 4 pages there are 16 stamps with a Reichsadler in the middle, and 12 right of way (Passiererlaubnis) stamps. Narrative: The document stipulates that Jakob Wiener was born on December 3, 1907, in Krakow, Poland and that he was married and was a tailor. The official seal and signature of the police report date from March 30, 1941. The card was also stamped by the Jewish Community on June 3, 1941. The card was supposed to expire on March 3, 1941 but was renewed every month until October 3, 1942. For each renewal, there is a stamp of the Arbeitsamt Krakau (Employement Office of Krakow), a red stamp reading Passiererlaubnis (Permission) and a signature. After the ghetto was liquidated, Jakob and his wife were separated. Jakob was sent on a death march and was shot but didn't die. At the end of the war, he was liberated from the concentration camp in Ebensee. He then returned to Krakow where he reunited with his wife who had survived Auschwitz. In 1950, the family moved to France and waited for papers to immigrate to Canada or Australia. Because Canadian papers arrived first, the Jakob, his wife and their daughter Sara immigrated to Montreal.

- Handwritten one sided note, pencil on paper Narrative: This letter was written by Bajla Kaminski (nee Bajla Podolcka), the donor's mother. It is presumed to have been written and thrown out of a deportation train leaving Malines, Belgium. The note was picked up and mailed (or brought) to the address written on the note. This address was the home in which the Kaminski family had been hiding before they were denounced and arrested. Bajla's daughter, Sara, was given this letter after the war. Bajla Kaminski was deported on January 15, 1944 on transport XXIII from Malines to Auschwitz concentration camp. She was presumably killed in Auschwitz.

- Sara Schichter (née Kaminski) was born on January 8, 1925 in a small Polish town called Bedzin, near Sosnowiec. She and her eight brothers were raised in a traditional Jewish. Three of her brothers died before 1924. At the outbreak of the war, the family had relocated to Hasselt, Belgium, where Sara attended elementary school and learned Flemish. In May 1940, the family fled to northern France but was caught up in the fighting in Dunkirk and Calais. They returned to Belgium in October 1940, and spent the rest of the war hiding in four separate houses all in the vicinity of Brussels. Sara lost her mother and three of her brothers who had been deported to Auschwitz. In May 1951, Sara immigrated to Canada, settling in Montreal where she became a teacher. Notably, Sara kept a diary during the war and she refers to it during the interview. Ms. Schichter passed away on May 19, 2013.
