OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, August 18, 1982, Page 40 Jack Levine Mourned The death of prominent Saint John businessman Jack D. Levine of 111 Manners Sutton Road, Millidgeville occured unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Tuesday. Born in Dorbian, Lithuania, he was the son of the late Abraham and Sarah D. (Garson) Levine. He graduated from Saint John High School and attended Dalhousie University. He was the owner and manager of Jack’s Men’s Shop Ltd. for almost 50 years. He was an active participant in many community organzatons and service clubs, including the Boy Scout Movement and the Habonim Organzation. He was a charter member and past president of the local Barber Shoppers S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. and a past president of the YHMA. He was a member of the Congregation Shaarei Zedek. He is survived by his wife, the former Anne Meltzer; one son, Ellis J. of Millidgeville; one daughter, Sandra (Mrs. Norman Slover) of Ottawa, Ont; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Castle Funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street from where the funeral will be held today with service at 2 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart Fund, Barbershoppers or Hadassah-Wizo would be appreciated by the family. For Hadassah-Wizo cards telephone Mrs. Joyce Milrod at 652-4354.
