OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, November 19, 1942, SB95, p. 228 Benjamin Levine Dies at Residence The death of Benjamin Levine, for many years propietor of a meat and grocery business in the North End, occured at his home, 699 Main Street, yesterday afternoon following an illness of two months. Mr. Levine was born in Poland, a son of the late William and Fanny Levine. He had resided in Saint John for the last 40 years and was esteemed by a wide circle of friends who will learn with regret of his death. He was a staunch member of Shaarei Zedek Synagogue. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn three daughters, Mrs. Harry Rush, Moncton; Mrs. Bessie Freedman, New York; and Mrs. Dora Lux, at home; one brother Samuel Levine, Montreal; one sister. Mrs. Lizzie Levine, Poland. The funeral will be held from his residence this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment will be made in the Hebrew plot in Fernhill Cemetery.
