Bracelet is made of a piece of metal (now broken in two) with holes on both ends where leather string is knotted. Narrative: The bracelet was received in Linz III (Herman Goering Werke, Mauthausen) by prisoner Max (Mieczislov) Szyf. The prisoner broke it in two pieces after his liberation from the camp.

Two card-sized tickets with numbers written in pencil on sides, number 159 and 160. These documents (coupons) are the dinner coupons for restaurant aboard ship, “Sicula Oceanica S.A. Mr. and Mrs. Isidore Lorincz arrived in Canada aboard the Venezuela. Narrative: Rev. Isodore Lorincz was born 6 January 1908 in Hungary. His parents were Lowi Netti and Loliner (?) Jakob. He attended high school and Yeshiva, and graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary of Budapest with ordination and smicha. During World War 2 his family was killed in Auschwitz. He came to Canada in 1957 after fleeing the revolution in Hungary. He served in two congregations before serving the Shaare Zedek Congregation as ritual director, then as Chazzan Sheni with a congregation in Hamilton, Ontario, for three years. Afterwards he served as rabbi in Port Colborne, Ontario. He settled in Montreal, Quebec, in 1962 where he became Chazzan Sheni for the next 26 years. He and his wife, Zita, continued to live in Montreal until there death around 2005. Zita was born 2 Jan 1917 in Nograd, Hungary.

Back plate embossed and edged with rococo style scrolls and flowers. Tablet shape at centre of back plate, with crown atop pointed centre. Outward curves of the sides resemble a divan. Fronted by a row of eight detabhable oil receptacles; a ninth receptable is placed atop the back plate on the right side.

Tag is made of metal, attached to leather bracelet with yellow button sewn on in black thread. Narrative: Henryk (Henry) Eisenberg’s metal tag from Mauthausen concentration camp. Henryk Eisenberg was born 1918-01-23 in Lodz, Poland. He was in Lodz (Liztmannstadt) ghetto from 1940-1944 working in Schneiderresort (sewing factory), then in Mauthausen camp (Austria) from August to December 1944 working as a barber. He was then sent to Ebensee camp (Austria) from September 1944 to May 1945 working in “Wiener Brockenbau” (bridge construction). Immediately after the war, he stayed at the UNRRA operated displaced persons camp in Bad Gastein (Austria).

Container for donating money to charity, converted from teapot. Cylindrical body with hinged flat lid at top. Lid has slot in centre. Thin handle on side. Latch on opposite side to keep lid closed, with hook to attach lock. Floral border at top and bottom of body, running horizontally, interspersed with vertical ridges running height of cylinder. Narrative: A tzedakah box is a receptacle for collecting money that is designated for charity. The Hebrew word tzedakah comes from the root tzedek, meaning justice. In the Jewish religion, giving money and resources to those in need is understood to be an act of justice.
