- Container for donating money to charity, converted from teapot. Cylindrical body with hinged flat lid at top. Lid has slot in centre. Thin handle on side. Latch on opposite side to keep lid closed, with hook to attach lock. Floral border at top and bottom of body, running horizontally, interspersed with vertical ridges running height of cylinder. Narrative: A tzedakah box is a receptacle for collecting money that is designated for charity. The Hebrew word tzedakah comes from the root tzedek, meaning justice. In the Jewish religion, giving money and resources to those in need is understood to be an act of justice.

Cover is brown faux-leather with a gilded decorative border and gilded imprinted text in the centre; the title is imprinted the same way on the front and back covers, but in different languages. The spine has gilded detailing and text. The page edges are gilded. The inside covers are textured metallic pink paper. The interior pages are white with black text. Narrative: Machzor for Pesach, Shavuot and Sukkot. Given as bar-mitzvah gift to Elias Levi (donor’s grandfather) by his parents in Belgrade in 1884.

- 612 pages. Hardcover, cardboard bound with string. The cover has a brown fabric base, under a layer of ivory-looking plastic. Attached to the plastic is a silver metal layer, with a cut-out in the middle showing the fabric base, with tiny gold stars. Surrounding the fabric centre, attached on top of the metal base, is a layer of bone, with a floral pattern cut out of the surface, revealing the metal support; inside, attached to the fabric, is another embellishment, plastic and metal, in the shape of 2 tablets with the 10 commandments. A decorative gold floral embellishment has been attached under the bone detailing, also on the metal support. A metal edge has been attached to the edge of the book, and is bordering the plastic. The spine and back cover have been covered with white ivory-looking plastic. There is a flat, rectangular clasp that is attached to the back cover, and hooks onto the front cover, to keep the book closed. The page edges are gilded and the interior covers and flyleafs have a beige, rose and blue floral pattern. Interior pages are beige, with black text.

The front has metal embellishments at the left edge, and corners (see condition); no text is printed on the covers, but the left embellishment is engraved (see inscriptions). The inside covers are baby blue; part of the pages have their edges are dyed red, and the rest are left undyed. The pages with the red edges are light beige with black text. - The front there is an illustration of a painting that shows a river in a forest at night, there is a full moon in the top center of the painting. On the back is a stamp from the Austrian-Hungarian Empire with a portrait of Kaiser Franz Joseph, worth 5 Heller. Narrative: This postcard was written by Bernhard Kissman (Donor's father) to his fiancee Fritzi Winter (Donor's mother) who lived at that time with her parents in Tescheutz, Bukowina. They got married in July 1913. Bernhard Kissman worked at various places in forestry. Postcards between them were written daily, often a letter followed.

- Legal format page with 1one fiscal stamp T.L, Jewish Community of Vienna stamp B.C., printed document with details filled in by hand in calligraphy, creased vertically and three times horizontally. Birth certificate from Jewish Community for Leopold Lorincz, born February 10, 1908, father was Aron David Lorincz, mother was Irma Weiner. Narrative: Rev. Isodore Lorincz was born 6 January 1908 in Hungary. His parents were Lowi Netti and Loliner (?) Jakob. He attended high school and Yeshiva, and graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary of Budapest with ordination and smicha. During World War 2 his family was killed in Auschwitz. Isodore married Zita in Salgotarjan, Hungary, in 1948. They came to Canada in 1957 after fleeing the revolution in Hungary. He and Zita lived with their cousin Eugene Lorincz when they first arrived. Isadore served in two congregations before serving the Shaare Zedek Congregation as ritual director, then as Chazzan Sheni with a congregation in Hamilton, Ontario, for three years. Afterwards he served as rabbi in Port Colborne, Ontario. He settled in Montreal, Quebec, in 1962 where he became Chazzan Sheni for the next 26 years. He and Zita continued to live in Montreal until there death around 2005. Zita was born 2 Jan 1917 in Nograd, Hungary.

- 1 page, single-sided. Folded once horizontally and once vertically. Pale green background with beige border. Document is a report card issued to Salomon Heiss for the 1914/1915 school year. He attended a religious school in Vienna, handwritten details are illegible. Printed table contains handwritten grades and parent's signature in right-hand column, above legend for grading system. Stamp indicates that this school was part of an association of Jewish schools in the district. Narrative: Salomon Heiss was the father of the donor, Erika Bloom. The Heiss family fled Nazi-occupied Vienna in 1938, after Salomon was arrested and detained in Dachau for 3 days. They survived the war in Shanghai, immigrated to Israel in 1949, and eventually settled in Montreal.

- i page, double-sided. Folded once horizontally and once vertically. Two holes punched on left side. Pale green background with large coat of arms, beige border. Document is a report card issued to Salomon Heiss for the 1915/1916 school year. He attended the general elementary school in Vienna and the document designates him as Jewish. Printed grid form contains grades in multiple subjects for 4 semesters . Signature of a parent or guardian (possibly father) in right-hand column for first 3 semesters. Space left blank for fourth semester. Rules and grades legend on verso. Narrative: Salomon Heiss was the father of the donor, Erika Bloom. The Heiss family fled Nazi-occupied Vienna in 1938, after Salomon was arrested and detained in Dachau for 3 days. They survived the war in Shanghai, immigrated to Israel in 1949, and eventually settled in Montreal.
