Able Seaman Ralph Zbarsky of Vancouver, British Columbia, was killed in action aboard the H.M.C.S. Esquimalt off Halifax, Nova Scotia. Rabbi E.M. Levy officiated at the naval funeral. Able Seaman Zbarsky enlisted in the navy at Saskatoon when he was 17 years old.
