Narrative: Rev. Isodore Lorincz was born 6 January 1908 in Hungary. His parents were Lowi Netti and Loliner (?) Jakob. He attended high school and Yeshiva, and graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary of Budapest with ordination and smicha. During World War 2 his family was killed in Auschwitz. He came to Canada in 1957 after fleeing the revolution in Hungary. He and his wife lived with their cousin Eugene Lorincz when they first arrived. Isadore served in two congregations before serving the Shaare Zedek Congregation as ritual director, then as Chazzan Sheni with a congregation in Hamilton, Ontario, for three years. Afterwards he served as rabbi in Port Colborne, Ontario. He settled in Montreal, Quebec, in 1962 where he became Chazzan Sheni for the next 26 years. He and his wife, Zita, continued to live in Montreal until there death around 2005. Zita was born 2 Jan 1917 in Nograd, Hungary.

- Page folded horizontally and vertically, 2.25 watermark four-point stars, letterhead of the Legation d'Israel a Budapest, signed by Z. Haskel. Addressed to Isadore Lorincz, stating that his immigration application according to the 1950 HOK HASVUT legislation has been favorably settled. Narrative: Rev. Isodore Lorincz was born 6 January 1908 in Hungary. His parents were Lowi Netti and Loliner (?) Jakob. He attended high school and Yeshiva, and graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary of Budapest with ordination and smicha. During World War 2 his family was killed in Auschwitz. Isodore married Zita in Salgotarjan, Hungary, in 1948. They came to Canada in 1957 after fleeing the revolution in Hungary. He and Zita lived with their cousin Eugene Lorincz when they first arrived. Isadore served in two congregations before serving the Shaare Zedek Congregation as ritual director, then as Chazzan Sheni with a congregation in Hamilton, Ontario, for three years. Afterwards he served as rabbi in Port Colborne, Ontario. He settled in Montreal, Quebec, in 1962 where he became Chazzan Sheni for the next 26 years. - 1 page, single-sided. Folded once vertically. Document is an official letter from the National Land Registry Office, issued to Gusztáv Weinberger. He is asked to send in documentation regarding his house in the village of Piricse, including copies of the land registry certificates and documentation of what his co-owners did for a living during fascist times. Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gusztáv and Anikó Weinberger. Gusztáv returned from the front to learn that 34 members of his extended family, including his wife and small daughter Évike, had been deported to Auschwitz. Only one cousin returned. He remarried Anikó Schwartz and they had two daughters, Elaine and Judith. Despite his efforts, Gusztáv did not receive any compensation for the loss of his family's property during the war.This collection of correspondence was used as part of the research for the following book: Kalman Naves, Elaine. - 1 page. Two-sided. Typed letter with multiple stamps. On the recto is a green fiscal stamp of 10 Forint on the t.l. On the verso are two fiscal stamps on the t.l. The first one is a dark blue stamp of 15 Forint and the second one is a brown stamp of 5 Forint. The address information is handwritten in the t.c. The document is a official statement made for Deszo Losoncy. Narrative: Deszo Losoncy, also known as Löwy or Losonczy, was born in Szentes, Hungary on 1904-04-12. He was deported to Birkenau, Poland for 14 to 16 months as a political prisoner. In this concentration camp, he was forced to work and clean Dr. Josef Mengele's laboratory. Later, Deszo Losoncy was also detained in Sachsenhausen, Germany, where he was liberated on 1945-04-25 by the Red Army. After the war, he lived in Budapest, Hungary and became a textile professional. He left Hungary soon after the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and settled in Montreal, Canada in 1957-01 with his wife Sylvia Holcz.

Notes are 4 pages of graph paper, double-sided. Folded once horizontally. Handwritten in pencil, they are notes relating to agriculture (breeding animals and crossbreeding plants). Envelope is printed at top left corner with 'HICEM / HIAS - ICA Emigration Association' in Budapest. It is addressed to Sándor Hornstein and Dr. Pál Weinberger. On verso are calculations done in pencil. Narrative: Donor is Elaine Kalman Naves, daughter of Gusztáv and Anikó Weinberger. Pal Weinberger was Gusztáv's younger brother. He was deported to Auschwitz with the rest of his extended family, survived the selection and was sent to Buchenwald. He became very ill there and was shot as the camp was being liberated. Gusztáv returned from the front to learn that 34 members of his extended family, including his wife and small daughter Évike, had been deported to Auschwitz. Only one cousin returned.
