- Contract with decorative border, folded once vertically and three times horizontally, signatures have been traced over with stronger pen. Engagement contract (betrothal certificate) signed by bride Esther Orenstein and groom Icek Cytrynbaum. Dated 10th of Adar. Narrative: Icek Cytrynbaum was born on 12 May 1906 in the Polish city of Bookechoir (?). Esther Orenstein (Estera Laja Orenstejn) was born in 1905, and moved to Canada from Danzig in 1930 after a failed voyage in 1929 due to lacking the required vaccinations. Icek and Esther were married in 1924. They both immigrated to Canada declaring to be 'single' and remarried in Toronto in 1930.
