- Flight Sergeant Alexander Balinson, of Hamilton, Ontario, was accidentally injured while overseas and died in he Malta General Hospital on April 24, 1942. He enlisted in the air force and went overseas in 1941. After several months' service in England, he was transferred to Gibraltar. He also served for a time in Egypt.

- Sergeant Arthur Lassner of Outremont, Quebec, was for official purposes presumed dead in the 558th overseas casualty list of the R.C.A.F. of April 24, 1943. Sergeant Lassner was listed missing after air operations on July 1, 1941, over the Mediterranean while en route from Malta to Egypt. He registered for enlistment within a few days after the outbreak of war. Called up in June 1940, he went overseas in February 1941.

- Flying Officer Lambert Nussbaum of Toronto, Ontario, was listed missing after air operations over Sicily on June 29, 1943, and was subsequently presumed dead for official purposes. Enlisting in the air force in November 1940, Flying Officer Nussbaum trained at Malton and at Jarvis, where he received his observer’s wing and commission. Later, he served at Debert, Nova Scotia, and Gander, Newfoundland, before being posted to England in September 1942. He saw action with the Atlantic patrol. In the course of one raid over Lorient in a Wellington bomber, Flying Officer Nussbaum was thrown over his bombsight into the nose of his plane when the pilot took evasive action to escape a Nazi night fighter. (A fuller description of the event was reported in the Toronto Daily Star.) Flying Officer Nussbaum was transferred to the Middle East after serving nine months in England.

- Flying Officer Sam Shusterove of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was listed as missing after air operations on January 23, 1943, and was later presumed dead. Enlisting in the air force in April 1941, Flying Officer Shusterove received his training at Guelph, Ontario, and Macdonald, Manitoba, where he graduated as a wireless air gunner. He went overseas in March 1942, serving first in England and later in the Far East. He was lost in action over Egypt. He had been promoted to flying officer in October 1942. His brother, Lance Corporal Robert Shusterove, served overseas with the R.C.A.

- Flight Sergeant Isador Yudell of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was officially reported missing after air operations overseas on January 6, 1943, and later presumed dead for official purposes. Flight Sergeant Yudell enlisted on August 1, 1940, and went overseas early in 1942. He was pilot of a Wellington bomber and had been stationed in the Middle East for two months before he was listed missing after an operational flight from Malta. Flight Sergeant Yudell received the 1939-45 Star, the Africa Star & bar, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the War Medal 1939-45. He was posthumously awarded R.C.A.F. Operational Wings on June 6, 1946, in recognition of gallant service in action against the enemy.
