OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, May 20, 2003, Obituary also appeared May 21, 2003. The death of Mr. Mark Reece of Saint John, NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on Sunday, May 18, 2003. Born in Manchester, England, April 25, 1914, he was the son of Israel and Ester Reece. Mr. Reece immigrated to Canada on the 25th of January, 1949 and was employed for 20 years as C.F.O. of MRA Holdings and Manchester, Robinson, Allison, Vassie Branch Manchester, Bonnell’s Ltd. (Cape Breton), MacDonald Furniture (Halifax) and New Way Furniture Co., (Maritimes). He served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and served with distinction in the Battle of Britain, the middle and far east. He was a past member of the Lions Club for 30 years, past member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #64, the Jewish War Veterans League and Burma Club of New Brunswick. All of his life, Mr. Reece was interested in good music and was a Ham Radio Operator. Besides his parents, Mr. Reece is also predeceased by two brothers, Hyman and Montague. Friends are welcome to attend a graveside service, under the direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) at Shaarei Zedek Cemetery (next to Fernhill Cemetery) Westmorland Rd., Saint John, on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. There will be no visitation or funeral at the funeral home.
