Dr. Maxwell Lauterman was the second Jewish doctor to graduate from the McGill School of Medicine and the first to practice in Montreal, Quebec. With the rank of Surgeon-Major, Dr. Lauterman was appointed Medical Officer of the cavalry regiment of the Canadian Coronation Contingent in 1911.
