OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, June 16, 1933, Page 2 Rabbi Found Dead Fredericton, June 16- (Staff Special) – Samuel Aaronson, 55-year old rabbi of the Fredericton district was found dead this morning here. The expectation is that his body will be taken to Saint John for burial. Rabbi Aaronson was born in Russia and was well known by Jewish communities throughout the province. OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, August 7, 1973 Boyaner – At the Saint John General Hospital convalescent wing on August 6, 1973, Louis Boyaner of 178 Horsler Drive; survived by two sons, several nieces and nephews. Resting at the Calvin Funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street, where the funeral will be held Wednesday, with service at 2 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Telegraph Journal Tuesday, August 7, 1973, page 18 Well-Known Businessman Mourned A widely-known retired businessman, Louis Boyaner of 178 Horsler Drive, died Monday at the Convalescent Wing of the Saint John General Hospital after a period of failing health. Born in Montreal, the son of the late Don and Kate (Poyas) Boyaner, Mr. Boyaner lived the greater part of his life in Saint John. His father was a pioneer optometrist in the city and he was joined by his sons who later formed Boyaner Bros. Mr. Boyaner had been in the business for 50 years before his retirement. He was a charter member of the Saint John Kiwanis Club, an honourary member of New Brunswick Lodge No. 22 F. and AM. and had received his 50 year medal. He was also a life member of the Knights of Pythias and a member of the Shaarei Zedek Congregation. Mr. Boyaner was interested in world traval and sailed on the original Bluenose. He was predeceased by three brothers, Dr. Frank Boyaner in 1945, Eli Boyaner in 1966 and Harry Boyaner in 1968. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Maurice Elman and Mrs. Norman Smith, both of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at the Calvin Funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street, where the funeral will be held Wednesday with service at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Brager, Charlotte Street grocer, died early today at the General Hospital, following an operation there Tuesday morning. Formerly, Mrs. Annie Gnessin of London, England, she had resided in Saint John for about 15 years since her marriage, and is survived by her husband, three sons, Joseph Edward, David and Michael, at home; her mother, one brother, Noah, and three sisters, Leah, Rose and Fannie, the last two being married, all of London England. The funeral will be held from her residence, 183 Canterbury Street, today at 8 p.m., conducted by Rev. A. Beshkin and Rev. A. Babb. Interment will be made in the Jewish plot of Fernhill Cemetery. Evening Times Globe Friday, September 4, 1936 The funeral of Mrs. Annie Brager, wife of Louis A. OBITUARIES: SB Series 95, July 16, 1942, Page 156 In Business Here for Half Century Charles G. Brager Dies in General Hospital after Brief Illness The death of Charles Gerson Brager, 47 Leinster Street occurred at an early hour this morning in the Saint John General Hospital after an illness of only a few days. Mr. Brager had been in his usual good health until Monday and his death came suddenly and as great shock to his family and friends. Mr. Brager was a son of the late Michael and Vera Brager of the city of Kovno, Lithuania and has been a highly respected citizen of Saint John where he carried on a successful business for over 50 years. He was one of the oldest members of the Hebrew Congregation and very active in all work pertaining to that body. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. L. R. Stibel and Ms. Shirley Brager of New York City; four sons, Louis A. and J. N. of the firm Brager Bros. Here; Halifax N.S. and Morton of Baltimore, Md. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon at Chamberlain’s Funeral Home, 145 King Street with service at 2:30 o’clock. The service will be conducted by Rev. M. Beshkin and Rev. A. Babb. Brown, Vancouver B.C., three daughters, Ruth Ann Skinner, St. John’s NFLD, Pamela Dawn Calman and her husband Leslie Lethbridge, Alberta and Victoria Lea Tierney and her husband Gerard, Brampton, Ontario, one brother John Malcolm Ross and his wife Denise, Moncton N.B., one sister Joan Toner and her husband Douglas, Saint John East, ten grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by a brother Ronald Ross, Moncton. Resting at the Hillsley Funeral Home, 91 Leinster Street (634-1700) from where the funeral will be held from the Hillsley chapel on Wednesday with service at 2 p.m. Interment in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. OBITUARIES: Evening Times Globe, August 20, 1983, Page 12 microfilm # 287 M. J. Brym – Montreal The death of M. J. Brym of Montreal and formerly of 109 Germain Street, Saint John, husband of the late Sarah (Goldberg) Brym, occurred on Thursday after a brief illness at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. Born in Poland, he was son of the late Haim and Bylah (Popial) Shalom Brym. He lived most of his life in Saint John. He was in the clothing manufacturing industry. He was a member of the Congregation Sharrei Zedek and was very active in Synagogue affairs. He is survived by two cousins, nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Castle Funeral Home (Hillsley), 91 Leinster Street from where the funeral will be held Sunday with service at 10 am. Interment in the Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Resting at the Castle Funeral Home (Hillsey), 91 Leinster Street, from where the funeral will be held on Sunday at 11 a.m. Interment in the Shaarei Zedek Cemetery.
