Sergeant Ralph Frank of Hamilton, Ontario, was reported killed on active service (R.C.A.F. Casualty List No. 541) on March 30, 1943, according to an official announcement. Rabbi S. Gershon Levi, M.B.E., of Montreal, senior Canadian Jewish chaplain, officiated at his funeral. Among those attending the funeral was his friend Warrant Officer Albert Garshowitz, also of Hamilton, who himself lost his life in action two months later. Flight Sergeant Melvin Kahn of Toronto, Ontario, was officially reported killed in action on February 19, 1943. Flight Sergeant Kahn enlisted in the air force in August 1941 and took his training at Toronto, Eglinton Hunt Club and Trenton. He received his wings at Fingal.
