- OBITUARIES: Telegraph Journal, January 9, 1996 Davis – At the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 7, 1996, Sam Davis of Saint John, husband of the late Gladys L. (Weizel) Davis, born in Saint John, the son of the late Harry and Ida (Rozovsky) Davis, Mr. Davis was a retired businessman and former mayor of Saint John. He is survived by four sons, Roy and wife Ziva, Toronto, Gary and wife Lana, Saint John, Jan Davis, Montreal, Alan and wife Carolyn Rose, Toronto; 2 brothers Abe A. and wife Goldie, Saint John, Isadore and wife Ruth, Saint John, 7 grandchildren, Nathan, Audrey, Anthony, Gregory, Alisa, and Ruby. Predeceased by sister Rose and brother Eli. Resting at the Castle Funeral Home (Hillsley) from where the funeral will be held from the chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment in the Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Donations to the Saint John Regional Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital Foundation and UNB would be appreciated by the family. Gravestone reference code(s): JM 998.61.463.
