Rectangular, with a circular ink stamp along the bottom, and frayed edges. Narrative: Donor received this armband from German authorities upon entering the ghetto-camp of Terezin in April 1944. She later embroidered the names of the four different camps she had been interned to as a memento of a survival during the Holocaust.

Narrative: Donor is the wife of Viktor Matus (born Victor Neumann), who survived the war in hiding and came to Montreal in 1949. From Hlohovec, Czechoslovakia. Two older brothers André and Otto were killed in January 1945 uprising. Parents were deported and killed in Auschwitz. Brother Marcel Neumann survived.

Drawing depicts inside a dormitory in ghetto-camp of Terezin. Piled mattresses with two children sleeping on the edge of the pile and two adults huddled in a corner. The scene shows the last night in the Terezin Jägerkaserne for this group prior to their deportation to a killing centre Narrative: The Jägerkaserne was used as quarters for old people during the ghetto period. In addition, it served as a quarantine station for the disinfestation of personal belongings.

This document is a certifiacte stating that Jiri Ehrmann, student, born March 3, 1920, was examined by Dr. Reska of the Red Cross in Theresienstadt ghetto-camp following a death march. Narrative: George (Jiri) Ehrman was born in Strakonice (Czech Republic) on March 8, 1920. He was deported from Prague to Theresienstadt ghetto-camp (Czech Republic) in June 1942. In December 1943 he was sent from the Theresienstadt ghetto-camp to Auschwitz concentration camp (Poland) where his prisoner number was #170128. In July 1944, George Ehrman was sent to concentration camp Schwarzheide, a subcamp of Sachsenhausen, where he received this identification prisoner number.George recalls that he was made to build bunkers and repair damages after Allied air raids. From April 4, 1945 to May 5, 1945 George was part of a death march from Schwarzheide camp toward Theresienstadt ghetto-camp. He was with his brother Charles (Karel) during the march. Mr Ehrman believes that from their hometown, only him and his brother Charles (Karel) survived the Holocaust. George Ehrman immigrated to Canada and settled in Montreal.
