- Nathan Gordon was born in 1882. He was a lecturer on rabbinical-medieval Jewish literature and instructor in Semitic languages at McGill University; prior to becoming a barrister he was Rabbi of the Temple Emanu-El, Montreal for 10 years; acted as prosecuting attorney for the City of Montreal; took an active part in the re-organization of Canadian Jewish Congress and was President of the Eastern Division. He died in 1938.
