Fonds also consists of: 1 box of photographic records which document State of Israel bonds meetings and events during the 1960's and 1970's. Most of the photographs are unidentified. Two large poster boards (one with colour cut outs and one with b&w) were assembled to honour past Presidents. The B&W photographs are labeled. A certificate to Anna Pepper from the State of Israel Bond Organization of Canada in honour of her efforts – 1963 (see 4-770). - History / Biographical
- The state of Israel bonds drive started in Ottawa in 1953 with Sam Berger and Mrs. Frances Greenblatt as co-chairs. Rabbi Simon L. Eckstein broadcast an impassioned plea for people to purchase "Bonds of Israel" over radio station CKOY in April of 1953 to mark Israel's 5th birthday. The State of Israel Bonds is an organization whose sole purpose is to sell bonds and notes for the Israeli Ministry of Finance. Israel Bonds are securities issued by the State of Israel to help build the nation's infrastructure. David Ben-Gurion established the Israel Bonds program in 1951, as a means of providing Israel with urgently needed economic support. Israel was economically devastated by the War of Independence; immigrants that poured into the country from Europe and Arab nations were living in primitive shelters; food was rationed, and an economic infrastructure was practically non-existent. Rebuffed by Wall Street, Prime Minister Ben-Gurion established the Israel Bonds organization as a means of raising economic capital through the sale of State of Israel securities. In 2009, the Hon. Rabbinic Chair is Rabbi Reuven Bulka. Co-Chairs Bonnie Merovitz and Dr. Steven Fremeth head the 2009 bond drive in Ottawa.
