History / Biographical
Begun in Autumn 1965, this intellectual Jewish literature and thought magazine was a joint project of the Canadian Jewish News and Canadian Jewish Congress, with financial support from the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Montreal and the Oscar Yolles Charitable Foundation of Toronto. Viewpoints aimed to provide a national vehicle for the independent expression of opinion on matters of interest to the Canadian Jewish community. Its contributors included notable scholars and authors from across Canada. Included as a tabloid format supplement to The Canadian Jewish News in its later years, the magazine ceased publication in 1995.
Custodial History
The collection was donated in two increments by editor William (Bill) Abrams, on March 08, 1983 and on May 28, 1996.
