- Harry Wolofsky was born in 1876. He was the founder, owner and publisher of Keneder Adler (The Canadian Jewish Eagle) Canada's major Yiddish newspaper. He exerted a great influence on Canadian Jewish community and world Yiddish press through the quality editors and contributors who wrote for the Adler and his Anglo-Jewish weekly The Canadian Jewish Chronicle. He died in 1949.
